The barge : Le Phénicien

At breakfast, lunch and dinner time, spaces around the bar will be your restaurant.

Ä You have certainly noticed that not less than 4 stairways (who said to heaven ?) allow the communication between the main deck and the lower deck. The one at the back is for service only. Each of the 3 others will lead you to a separated cell of 3 cabins for more intimacy. Then you can reach your own cabin.

Ä "LE PHENICIEN" is made mainly of steel. A lot of wood has been used also as well as other natural materials and concrete. As much as possible, all plastics and chemicals have been banned from the boat. In compliance to the new European regulations, no polluting rejects are sent to the river by the boat.

Ä In an airplane, a bus, a train, a taxi, an elephant, or whatever means of transportation, where would you locate the cockpit ?

Commonly, the pilot bridge is at the back on a freight barge. Fortunately, because the captain wants always to keep an eye on the goods or materials he transports. As most of cruising barges have been designed from standard freight barges, this location remains. On "LE PHENICIEN", thanks to the upfront position of the bridge, you will appreciate the nice feeling of not being "spied" permanently when on board, would it be by the captain himself. Also you could therefore easily experience the art of navigation (under the captain control of course !).
